More On Scotia, NY
Scotia is nestled on the north bank of the Mohawk River and was originally purchased by an immigrant from Scotland named Alexander Lindsay Glen in the 17th century. Scotia served as a military camp during the French and Indian War and the War of 1812. As time went on and the town’s population grew, it became a place of residence for employees of great companies in Schenectady such as General Electric. Today, Scotia is a small tight-knit community with a population of around 8,000 people who support their town’s small businesses.
